This year we will have a feature performance from the incredible spoken word artist Abdulsalam Ash! You don’t want to miss this!
No slam experience necessary – bring your best poem under 3 min 10 seconds to compete in our one-round poetry slam.
Sign up at the door beginning at 6:30pm. Max 12 slammers. First come, first served. All-ages!
More about the feature poet:
Abdulsalam is a Syrian-Palestinian spoken word poet and photographer. His poetry explores themes of displacement, belonging, and, sometimes, love. Since calling Turtle Island home, Abdulsalam has performed in various cities, reached the finals of the 2023 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (CIPS) in Vancouver, and featured at the Saskatchewan Festival of Words. He is grateful to live, work, and play on the unceded Coast Salish Territories.
