The Cathedral Village Arts Festival in collaboration with AVAD Properties invites proposals for a permanent mural to reflect the creative spirit of our community.

The selected artist’s design will adorn the three middle panels on the WEST side wall of the Sobey’s liquor store at the corner of 13th Avenue and Retallack Street. The panels in question measure:

  • 80” tall by 56 ¾” wide.

An appropriate base will be applied to the panels prior to the commencement of the work in order to protect the design from weather or vandalism.

The creator of the successful proposal will receive a fee of 5,300 dollars for their efforts. This payment will also cover the full cost of materials and supplies.

Should your proposal be chosen you will be expected to unveil the final design to the public and the media at noon on Saturday May 25th, 2024 during the festival’s Street Fair day.

The winning artist’s design will be juried by the CVAF Visual Arts team in collaboration with AVAD Properties.

Proposals, including a sketch or rough layout of the design, should be submitted by email to: before midnight Sunday, MARCH 2nd 2024.

The successful design will be announced on MONDAY, MARCH 11th
